The complete process begins with exporting your project to the right settings, then
sending the content through NuviewUp Software, then sharing and delivering with Nuview.tv

Your post-production workflow.

Unfortunately, sending uncompressed rushes through the internet, isn't currently a feasible, cost- effective solution. So, the first part of the Nuview process is encoding your content into the right format to send through the web. So, whether you are using Mac-based Final Cut edit stations, or PC-based Avid systems, or even if you aren't editing at all, and just have some content you need to send, our first step is to get you encoding presets that will get your material in the perfect format for delivery. You don't need to have any encoding expeirence, it's all done for you.

Our post-production workflow.

Whilst supplying presets and settings to allow you to encode remotely is a huge advance in delivering broadcast television, you are ultimately at the mercy of your equipment. If you are using older software and hardware to make the encodes, there can be long waiting times as the process is state-of-the-art and older machines can struggle. The best way to ensure maximum speed and quality, is to deliver your source material to one of our offices, where we have dedicated banks of encoding servers to get it delivered lightening fast, and at stunning quality. All completely optimised for broadcast encoding.Alternatively, we have mobile edit and encoding stations that can come to your events or office, anywhere in the world. Our skilled operators can turn your edit around to the highest production standards, and then use our bespoke editing and ecoding stations to turn the footage around as fast as is possible.

How is the footage encoded?

Since 2005, we have been working with the H264 codec to develop video files that are beautiful to watch, but are small enough to send through the internet without huge waiting times. The H264 codec is at the heart of popular technologies such as Blu-Ray and iPlayer, and is our first choice for broadcast delivery. Through years of development and improvement, we have created our own versions of this codec, which vary slightly for different uses; If you have an HD programme that needs to be sent for broadcast, we have the perfect settings, if you need to send rushes for continued work or editing, we have settings with higher bitrates so the pictures hold up to manipulation, if you want super-clean versions of your video in crystal clear H264 for YouTube or Vimeo, we have those settings too.

NuviewUp

Once you have created the necessary versions of your content, they are delivered to our servers via our own NuviewUp software. This streamlines delivery, increases speed and security, and allows for uploads to be resumed if you unexpec-tedly lose your connection. Fully functional on both Mac and PCs. See the NuviewUp page for more information.

Nuview.tv

Once your videos have been uploaded, they are placed within the Nuview Gallery for sharing and delivering. Each new video delivered is displayed within it's own pod, and there is always a streaming version of the video so you can see clearly what the content is. Each pod can be password protected if the content is confidential or sensitive. Each pod has it's own dedicated page online, where you can get all of the video information, and download any broadcast or any other versions of the video, if they are available. This page is where you would direct a broadcaster to access the high-resolution version of your video. Only registered users are allowed to download content, so we are able to feedback detailed reports to you on exactly who was using your content and where. If the material is not for public access, then downloads can be password protected, so you only give the password to approved users.

Multiple downloads & other formats.

Say you have a project that is being delivered worldwide, to different broadcasters, all requesting different formats. The US need a 1080P version at 29FPS, the UK need a 720p version at 25FPS, France need a Standard-Definition version in Secam, and Italy need a 4x3 Latterboxed version. To make things more complicated, your Asia office wants a version encoded for playing on their intranet, and the boss wants a version available for your agency to put on YouTube. Gone are the days of expensive conversions and dubs, and then sending copies on tape. With Nuivew, you can have all the different versions, all available to download from the same page. What's more, you can send anything else along with your videos. So you can send any relevant documents; A press release with your promotional launch video, a suggested script and shot list for your sports documentary, or even digital stills along with your ruhses for you editor to put together,
Those are the basics. For more on why Nuview beats satellite, tape and FTP delivery, check out the
Performance page, and for other ways Nuview can work for you, check the Full Production page.
